Welding the Rockies

The Colorado Section of the American Welding Society in conjunction with the Center for Welding, Joining, and Coating Research at Colorado School of Mines is hosting the second annual Spring Welding Symposium at Colorado School of Mines. The one day symposium will be held Friday March 11, 2011 in Petroleum Hall in the Green Center, 924 16th Street, in Golden, Colorado (see http://greencenter.mines.edu/  for maps and location).  The symposium will cover a wide range of topics relevant to welding including: welder training, welder certification, robotic welding, non-destructive evaluation of welds, Codes and Standards, the metallurgy of welding, advice for selecting welding gas mixtures, and gas torch safety.  This symposium will be of interest to those in the welding industry as well as construction trades, builders, designers, welding students, engineers and engineering students. The symposium is free, but you must register.

All registered attendees will be admitted free of charge, but are asked to make a donation to the AWS Section 039 Welding Scholarship fund so that we can develop the next generation for the welding industry. Suggested donations for the two day event:
Students: $25
Employed AWS Members or Non Members: $100
Supporting Businesses: $200 Or whatever you feel comfortable contributing,
all donations will be used for AWS Section 039 Scholarships (the money will stay in the local economy). The symposium will be held in Petroleum Hall of the Green Center, at Colorado School of Mines in Golden Colorado.
